TexMart : Could you brief us about Desai Textiles?

Dhaval Desai : Desai Textiles is a second-generation textile manufacturing company based in Ichalkaranji, Maharashtra. Established in 1979 by Mr. Kiranbhai Desai, a pioneer in bringing automated weaving technology to the region, the company played a crucial role in spotlighting the potential of the decentralised sector. His foresight and efforts were instrumental in encouraging Mumbai-based mills and Indian buyers to source quality grey fabrics from Ichalkaranji.

Today, Desai Textiles stands as a trusted name in the woven fabric industry — supplying premium shirting and bottom-weight fabrics to leading brands and manufacturers across India. With a legacy of innovation, quality, and ethical manufacturing, we continue to evolve with the needs of the modern textile market.

TM: What are the key products of your company?

DD : At Desai Textiles, we specialise in a wide range of woven fabrics with an emphasis on both topwear and bottomwear applications. Our key product categories include:

  • Structured Bottom weights
  • Shirtings
  • Stretch Fabrics
  • Dobby Fabrics
  • Polyester Cotton. Tencel Blends, Linen Blends

We offer a curated fabric library with SKUs, with continual additions aligned with market trends and seasonal requirements.

TM: How about your Technical features of your manufacturing plant?

DD : Our manufacturing ecosystem includes:

  • 48 state-of-the-art Rapier looms
  • 48 high-speed Airjet looms
  • Around 100 additional looms across dedicated satellite units under long-term contracts

We have invested in a centralised infrastructure that includes CAD-based designing, yarn preparation, and in-house testing labs — ensuring speed, accuracy, and product consistency at every stage.
