Vardhman Textiles begins commercial production at its Baddi technical textiles plant, strengthening capacity in high-value textile segments.
Vardhman Textiles Limited has commenced commercial production at its newly set up technical textiles facility in Baddi, marking a key milestone in the implementation of its previously announced capital expenditure plans. The unit has been established with a manufacturing capacity of approximately 1.5 million metres of fabric per month.
The operationalisation of the plant reflects the company’s strategic entry into higher-value technical textile segments. This expansion is expected to strengthen Vardhman’s product portfolio and reinforce its competitive position in both domestic and international markets. The investment aligns with the company’s long-term strategy of expanding capacity and increasing value addition in specialised textile categories.
With the new facility, Vardhman aims to enhance operational scale and strengthen its presence in performance-oriented and application-specific textile segments. The move into technical textiles is anticipated to support margin improvement and diversify revenue streams over the medium to long term.
For investors and stakeholders, the start of commercial production marks the transition from capital deployment to revenue generation, highlighting the company’s structured approach to expansion and disciplined growth within India’s evolving textile industry landscape.
Vardhman Textiles is one of India’s leading vertically integrated textile manufacturers, with a strong footprint across the yarn and fabric value chain. The company ranks among the country’s largest producers of cotton yarn and blended yarns, catering to both domestic and global markets. Its portfolio includes cotton, polyester-cotton and speciality yarns, along with woven fabrics used primarily in apparel applications.
Through its group entities, Vardhman also produces sewing threads and acrylic fibre, serving a broad spectrum of end-use industries. With manufacturing facilities spread across multiple states in India, the company exports to over 75 countries worldwide. Its integrated operations, scale efficiencies and quality focus have enabled it to maintain a strong presence across spinning, weaving and value-added textile segments.
The addition of the Baddi technical textiles facility is expected to further consolidate Vardhman’s position in advanced textile categories and support its long-term growth and diversification strategy.
