Outlast Launches Ultra-Cool Bedding Fabric
Outlast introduces ultra-cool bedding fabric with advanced temperature regulation technology, enhancing sleep comfort and textile innovation.

Outlast Technologies GmbH has introduced a new engineered textile material named Bailey, designed for use in pillows, comforters and duvets. The innovation combines exceptionally high heat absorption capacity with a naturally cool-touch surface, offering enhanced thermal comfort for sleep products.

Bailey integrates Outlast’s proprietary temperature-regulating technology with a Lyocell-based fabric structure. The material is engineered to immediately absorb excess body heat on contact, delivering a noticeable cooling sensation. This feature is particularly beneficial during warmer seasons and for individuals prone to night-time perspiration.

Beyond the initial cooling effect, the textile delivers a substantial heat storage capacity of up to 7,500 J/m², enabling it to continuously manage temperature fluctuations throughout the night.

According to the company, the material actively absorbs, stores and gradually releases heat as required. This helps minimise temperature spikes, reduce sweating and maintain a more balanced and comfortable sleep environment.

Bailey also reflects a strong sustainability profile. The Lyocell fibre used in the material is derived largely from renewable raw resources and typically requires significantly less water during production compared to conventional cotton.

In addition, the temperature-regulating microcapsules embedded within the fabric contain wax sourced from renewable materials, offering a bio-based alternative to traditional fossil-derived components.

The textile features a clean, lightweight appearance with a fine and uniform surface structure, delivering a premium visual and tactile appeal suitable for high-end bedding products.

Manufactured in Europe, Bailey complies with leading international textile safety and sustainability certifications, including OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class 1 and OEKO-TEX Made in Green.
