Shortly after hitting operational stability by late 2018/2019, the global pandemic hit. Immediate lock-downs, fashion retail closures, and halted shipping orders put immense pressure on working capital and liquidity. The company completely eliminated speculative manufacturing. Fabric was produced exclusively against confirmed, pre-sold customer purchase orders. By tying production directly to contracted demand, capital wasn’t tied up in unsold warehouse inventory, preserving crucial cash liquidity.
The Challenges were Fixed overheads, machinery debt obligations, and payroll commitments continued despite factory shutdowns and market delays. The leadership team acted swiftly to utilize government-backed loan moratoriums and Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Schemes (ECLGS).
