Indian ethnic and occasionwear brand Frontier Raas inaugurated its new store in Ahmedabad on November 1, 2026, marking another milestone in its retail expansion.
Actor Kangana Ranaut attended the inauguration as the chief guest, alongside prominent business personalities, leading families and members of the city’s fashion and cultural communities.
Established in 1954, Frontier Raas has built its reputation around handloom saris, bridal couture, traditional occasionwear and menswear. The new Ahmedabad outlet aims to bring the brand’s extensive collections of traditional Indian textiles and contemporary designs closer to customers in Gujarat.
The inauguration was inspired by the royal heritage of Maharani Jamnabai Gaekwad, Maharani of Baroda. Her legacy influenced the creative direction of the ensemble showcased for the occasion, with the traditional bajuband, an ornamental armlet associated with royal Indian jewellery, serving as one of its key inspirations.
Bandhani formed the foundation of the ensemble, combining the intricate tie-dye craftsmanship of a Bandhani saree with the distinctive woven borders of Paithani textiles. The tassels drew inspiration from Gujarati tribal craftsmanship, featuring small decorative balls made from Bandhani fabric, embellished with beads and individually positioned by hand along the saree’s border and pallu.
The ensemble brought together Gujarati textile heritage, Paithani craftsmanship and royal design influences, demonstrating how traditional Indian textile techniques can be incorporated into contemporary occasionwear.
Frontier Raas aims to establish its Ahmedabad store as a prominent destination for bridal and occasionwear shopping while building long-term relationships with customers across Gujarat. The company sees the new outlet as an opportunity to contribute to the city’s evolving fashion retail landscape.
Ahmedabad holds particular significance for the brand because of its longstanding association with textile manufacturing, traditional weaving and craftsmanship. Gujarat’s rich textile heritage, including Patola and Bandhani, has influenced generations of artisans and designers. Through its new store, Frontier Raas seeks to connect with customers who appreciate traditional Indian clothing and contemporary designs suited to modern celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, Anil Batra, Chairman of Frontier Raas, said, “Handloom saris have always been very close to my heart. I have immense admiration for the skill, patience and dedication of our weavers, who carry forward traditions that have been passed down through generations. I have always felt that it is important to value the people behind these textiles and ensure that their work receives the appreciation it deserves.”
The new outlet offers an extensive selection of bridalwear, festive clothing, handloom saris, occasionwear and menswear. Its collections feature traditional textile techniques and regional weaving styles, including Banarasi Kadhwa, Jamdani, Kanjivaram, Patan Patola, Ikat, Sambalpuri Ikat from Odisha and Bandhani. These textiles are complemented by intricate embroidery and hand embellishments across traditional and contemporary silhouettes.
The store’s interiors reflect the brand’s emphasis on craftsmanship, incorporating materials, textures and lighting inspired by Indian design. Its layout has been developed to provide a personalised shopping experience for customers selecting outfits for weddings, festivals and other special occasions.
The Ahmedabad opening further strengthens Frontier Raas’s retail network in India and international markets. Through its continued expansion, the brand aims to make its collections more accessible while promoting India’s diverse textile traditions, handloom heritage and craftsmanship.
