TexMart : What inspired the establishment of Vetri Engineers in 1992, and how has its founding vision evolved over the years?
Jayaprakash : During my job experience in the oil and gas industry in India, Southeast Asia and Middle east countries, I have noticed for the construction of oil and gas projects, Indian engineering products are rarely recommended which has affected me to continue in the job career and switched to establish a company in Coimbatore exclusively to promote made in engineering products to the export market and import substitutions. In the last 35 years, we maintain the India made engineering products exports as our sincere and serious vision. Particularly for the Textile spinning industry, we have developed or reverse engineered 1000s of components as replacement maintenance parts.

SJ : With my oil and gas industry’s quality standards, we have introduced strictly the quality procedures which have resulted the reliability of engineering components.

SJ : Despite of being a small-scale industry, we got ISO 9000 certification within 10 years of establishment and we strictly monitored and controlled the sourcing, manufacturing and quality systems.

SJ : 1000s of spinning textile machinery engineering parts including the Top Rollers and many contract manufacturing of mechanical engineering components we have developed for domestic and export market.

SJ : Prior to 1992, most of the textile machinery parts are imported from OEMs and they are very expensive. One such thing is the top roller for the draw frame and comber and we have taken as challenge to develop by doing the reverse engineering incorporating better material and improvement in the design of the parts.
