Active Clothing to Add 106 Knitting Machines in FY27
Active Clothing Co Ltd, an apparel manufacturing and design company, is expanding its production capacity with the addition of 106 fully computerised flat knitting machines from China-based Ningbo Cixing Co. Ltd.
The new machines will be deployed across the company’s Flat Knitted Sweaters Division and Circular Knits (T-shirts) Division. Installation and commissioning are planned in phases during FY27 as the company works to enhance manufacturing capacity and efficiency.
According to the management, the expansion is expected to improve productivity, expand the company’s product portfolio and enable it to meet the growing requirements of its customers. The additional capacity is also expected to support higher production and sales volumes, potentially contributing to revenue growth and improved profitability.
The latest investment will significantly expand Active Clothing’s existing knitting infrastructure. The company currently operates what it describes as India’s largest fully-fashioned knitting setup within a single factory, comprising 210 Shima Seiki machines, 119 Stoll machines, 164 Cixing machines, eight Khau Heng specialty machines and 16 China Shoe Machine units.
Following the addition of the 106 new Cixing machines, Active Clothing’s Cixing fleet will rise from 164 to 270 machines, representing an increase of nearly 65%.
The expansion will further strengthen the company’s knitting capabilities while complementing its existing machinery base from Shima Seiki and Stoll, supporting its plans to scale apparel production and serve a broader customer base.
