Apparel Group Brings Carrefour to India with Greater Noida Flagship
Apparel Group has launched Carrefour’s India retail journey with a 50,000+ sq. ft. flagship store in Greater Noida, marking the beginning of an ambitious expansion across North India.
Apparel Group, a global fashion and lifestyle retail conglomerate, has announced the entry of Carrefour into the Indian market with the opening of its first flagship store at H&S Mall, Boulevard Walk, Greater Noida West.
The launch marks a significant milestone in Apparel Group’s India expansion and its move into food and hypermarket retail. The partnership combines Carrefour’s international retail expertise with Apparel Group’s understanding of the Indian market to create a modern retail proposition focused on quality, value, convenience and evolving consumer preferences.
Spanning more than 50,000 sq. ft., the Greater Noida store offers over 15,000 SKUs, including exclusive international products and a wide range of locally sourced goods. Its product portfolio covers fresh produce, groceries, bakery products, household essentials and personal care.
The flagship store is positioned as the first step in a broader expansion strategy. Apparel Group plans to grow Carrefour’s presence across North India in the coming years, supported by local partnerships, modern supply chain infrastructure and an integrated omnichannel retail ecosystem.
Under Apparel Group’s operational leadership, Carrefour will also work with an expanding network of Indian suppliers and partners, strengthening its links with the country’s retail, agricultural and supply chain sectors.
Nilesh Ved, Chairman of APPCORP Holding, Owner of Apparel Group and Founder of KORA Properties, said Carrefour’s entry represents more than the arrival of an international retailer, highlighting the company’s confidence in India’s long-term retail potential.
Patrick Lasfargues, Executive Director – International Partnership at Carrefour, said the launch marks an important milestone for the retailer and its long-term plans for India. He highlighted the country’s evolving retail sector and the partnership’s potential to combine Carrefour’s global capabilities with strong local market knowledge.
India’s organised retail sector continues to benefit from rising consumer aspirations, urbanisation and changing shopping habits. The country’s retail market is projected to exceed US$2.36 trillion by 2030, creating significant opportunities for modern retail formats and omnichannel businesses.
Apparel Group and Carrefour plan to build on this opportunity by combining physical stores with technology-enabled logistics, digital capabilities and local partnerships. The strategy aims to create a retail platform that can adapt to India’s rapidly changing consumer landscape.
The Greater Noida flagship therefore represents more than a single-store launch. It is the starting point of a wider ambition to establish Carrefour as a significant retail destination in India while creating value for consumers, suppliers, communities and the broader economy.
