China’s Textile and Apparel Exports Reach $116.72 Billion in Jan–May 2026

China’s textile and apparel industry maintained stable export performance during the first five months of 2026, reflecting the sector’s resilience amid evolving global trade conditions.

According to the latest industry data, China’s textile and apparel exports reached US$116.72 billion between January and May 2026, registering a modest year-on-year increase of 0.1%.

The export figures highlight the continued strength of China’s manufacturing base and its ability to meet international demand despite ongoing economic uncertainties and changing market dynamics.

Production activity remains robust across key textile manufacturing regions. Workers at a textile production workshop in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, were seen engaged in manufacturing operations on June 28, underscoring the industry’s sustained output levels.

China continues to be one of the world’s largest textile and apparel exporters, supplying a wide range of products to global markets. Industry observers note that steady export growth demonstrates the sector’s adaptability, supported by efficient production capabilities, technological upgrades, and diversified export destinations.

While growth remained marginal during the period, the positive performance signals continued stability in the country’s textile and garment export sector as manufacturers navigate shifting global demand patterns.
