Punjab Textile Industry Has Huge Growth Potential, Says CM Bhagwant Mann at Bharat Tex 2026
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has highlighted the state’s strong potential in the textile sector, stating that Bharat Tex 2026 provides a valuable platform to accelerate industry growth and expand business opportunities.
Speaking at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, Mann said Punjab continues to play a significant role in India’s textile industry, with 97 companies from the state participating in this year’s exhibition.
He noted that Punjab has traditionally been one of India’s leading textile hubs and expressed confidence that international events such as Bharat Tex would help strengthen the state’s textile ecosystem through greater investment, business collaborations, and global market exposure.
Bharat Tex 2026 has emerged as a premier international platform for the textile and apparel industry, bringing together manufacturers, buyers, policymakers, investors, and technology providers. The event showcases India’s capabilities across the textile value chain, with a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, trade, and investment.
Apart from discussing the textile sector, Mann also commented on fuel pricing and the rollout of E20 fuel, while confirming that the Punjab government would welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his scheduled visit to the state on July 17, when four redeveloped railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme are set to be inaugurated.
