The LYCRA Company will return to Performance Days Munich on October 13–14, where it will highlight COOLMAX CloakFX™ fiber.
The innovation is one of only 16 products selected for the Performance Days Innovation Forum, a curated showcase of the trade show’s most noteworthy new materials, technologies, and developments.
COOLMAX CloakFX™ fiber diffuses light at the fiber level using optical “masking” to help reduce the visible appearance of moisture and make sweat marks less noticeable. The fiber now features 100 percent recycled polyester content and is GRS-certified, helping support customers’ sustainability goals.
“Visible sweat on apparel is a leading pain point for consumers across demographics, often forcing them to compromise between performance, comfort, and appearance,” said Tara Maurer‑Mackay, product category director, branded specialty products, The LYCRA Company. “Consumers want one fabric that does it all, and COOLMAX CloakFX™ fiber is designed to help garments look drier while helping keep the wearer cool and dry.”
The LYCRA Company will also showcase elastane fabrics and garments made with renewable LYCRA® fiber at the textile trade show. Made with 70 percent plant-based content, this solution helps reduce apparel’s carbon footprint while delivering the same trusted performance as traditional LYCRA® fiber. A featured customer collaboration demonstrates how this fiber can support commercial development across performance and bio-based textile applications.
“Set the Pace” brings together The LYCRA Company, Brugnoli, and Pissei in a “Made in Italy” bio-based cycling kit that shows how high-performance garments can incorporate next-generation bio-based materials. The project features Brugnoli’s patented Br4® technology and bio-based polyamide, along with Renewable LYCRA® fiber, in a technical stretch fabric with up to 89 percent bio-based content. Pissei contributes its expertise in technical cycling apparel and athlete-focused garment construction.
The second collaboration is with mill partner Ekoten, which will present garments made with COOLMAX CloakFX™ fiber, demonstrating how it applies the technology in commercial fabric and garment development.
