Arvind Limited plans new textile and garment units across Dewas, Dhar and Indore, with the investment expected to create around 5,000 jobs and strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s textile manufacturing ecosystem.
Arvind Limited is planning a major expansion of its textile and garment manufacturing operations in Madhya Pradesh, with an investment of around ₹1,200 crore in the PM MITRA Park in Dhar. The company is also planning industrial units at Barlai near Dewas and Betma near Indore, strengthening the state’s growing textile manufacturing ecosystem.
The proposed expansion is expected to create employment opportunities for approximately 5,000 people in the garment sector. The investment was discussed during a meeting between Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Arvind Limited Vice Chairman Kulin Lalbhai in Ahmedabad.
The PM MITRA Park in Dhar is expected to play an important role in the company’s expansion strategy. Madhya Pradesh aims to begin production at the park in the coming year, creating an integrated environment for textile manufacturing and supporting businesses across the value chain.
Founded in 1931, Ahmedabad-headquartered Arvind has operations spanning denim, fabrics, garments and other textile businesses. The company employs more than 60,000 people and sources cotton from more than 100,000 farmers, giving its proposed Madhya Pradesh expansion the potential to connect local manufacturing with a wider textile supply chain.
The investment also comes amid increasing attention to sustainable textile manufacturing in Madhya Pradesh. Discussions around industrial clusters have included technologies such as Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems and greater reuse of treated wastewater, which could support more efficient water management in textile-processing operations.
For the Indian textile and apparel industry, the expansion could strengthen domestic production capacity across garments and related textile activities while generating new opportunities for suppliers, processors, logistics companies and supporting industries in Madhya Pradesh.
Arvind’s proposed investment therefore represents an important boost to the state’s industrial ambitions, combining textile investment, garment manufacturing, employment generation and sustainability-focused infrastructure. It also strengthens the potential of Madhya Pradesh to emerge as a larger integrated textile manufacturing destination.
