KPR Mills Announces ₹1,225 Crore Expansion Across Textile and Apparel Operations
Seven projects spanning spinning, knitting, processing and garmenting in Tamil Nadu and Odisha are expected to generate around ₹2,000 crore in annual turnover.

KPR Mills is investing ₹1,225 crore across seven projects to expand and modernise its textile and apparel manufacturing operations in Tamil Nadu and Odisha. Approved by the company’s Board of Directors on 10 August 2026, the programme covers spinning, knitting, textile processing and garment manufacturing.

The projects include three greenfield facilities and four modernisation-cum-expansion initiatives. KPR Mills expects the combined projects to generate approximately ₹2,000 crore in annual turnover once fully operational. The entire capital expenditure will be funded through the company’s internal accruals.

The largest investment is a ₹450-crore greenfield ready-made garment facility in Odisha, which is planned to have an annual capacity of 45 million garments. The facility is targeted for completion in the first quarter of FY2027-28 and will expand KPR Mills’ garment manufacturing footprint beyond Tamil Nadu.

KPR Mills will also invest ₹250 crore in a new processing facility at Perundurai, Coimbatore, with an annual processing capacity of 10,000 tonnes. A further ₹75 crore will be invested in a sweater manufacturing facility at Karumathampatti, Coimbatore, with capacity for 2.5 million garments annually.

The company is allocating the remaining ₹450 crore towards modernising and expanding existing facilities. This includes investments of ₹90 crore and ₹100 crore in knitted-fabric facilities at Arasur and Neelambur, respectively. The company will also invest ₹85 crore in Spinning Mill Unit 3 and ₹175 crore in Spinning Mill Unit 1 at Karumathampatti.

The programme is expected to add 47.5 million garments of annual capacity, while also increasing knitting, processing and spinning capabilities. KPR Mills currently operates an integrated manufacturing network covering yarn, knitting, fabrics, processing and ready-made garments.

The expansion combines new production capacity with upgrades to existing facilities, supporting higher productivity, operational efficiency and value-added textile manufacturing. With its vertically integrated operations and growing garmenting capacity, KPR Mills is strengthening its position in India’s textile and apparel manufacturing sector.
