Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the PM MITRA Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal on May 10, according to G. Kishan Reddy.
In a post on X, the minister said the park—being inaugurated virtually from Hyderabad—is envisioned as a world-class integrated textile hub aim ed at boosting manufacturing, employment, and exports.
The project involves an estimated investment of ₹1,695.54 crore, with total investments expected to exceed ₹6,000 crore. Of this, more than ₹3,800 crore has already been committed on the ground.
Spread over 1,327 acres, the park is among the largest textile hubs in India and has been developed as a brownfield project under the PM MITRA (Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel) scheme.
Aligned with the government’s ‘5F’ vision—farm to fibre, fibre to factory, factory to fashion, and fashion to foreign—the initiative seeks to strengthen the entire textile value chain.
Around 62% of the park area has already been allotted to anchor investors, while key internal infrastructure such as roads, water supply, and street lighting has been completed. Major utilities, including a 232/132/33 KV power substation and a 220 KV transmission line, are nearing completion.
Additionally, a 12 MLD water supply system is in advanced stages, and Phase I of a 5 MLD common effluent treatment plant with zero liquid discharge is currently under trial.
The project is expected to generate over 24,400 jobs once fully operational, with nearly 2,000 jobs already created.
With its strategic location, plug-and-play facilities, and integrated ecosystem, the Warangal textile park is poised to become a key driver of textile manufacturing and employment in India. The initiative also reflects the government’s broader push to strengthen industrial infrastructure and position the country as a global textile hub.
Earlier in March, the government finalised plans to establish PM MITRA Parks at seven locations nationwide, including Virudhunagar, Navsari, Kalaburagi, Dhar, Lucknow, and Amravati.
In the Union Budget 2026–27, the government also announced a separate scheme to set up mega textile parks under a ‘challenge mode’ framework.
