Tamil Nadu Government Advances Technical Textile Growth Through T3 Mission MoUs

@Coimbatore, June 25, 2026: The Government of Tamil Nadu reinforced its commitment to developing the state’s technical textiles sector by facilitating a series of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) under the Tamil Nadu Technical Textile Mission (T3 Mission) during the Technical Textile Awareness Session held at Le Méridien,Coimbatore.

Organized by the Department of Textiles, Government of Tamil Nadu, the event brought together industry stakeholders, investors, and consultancy organizations to accelerate investments and innovation in the rapidly growing technical textiles segment.

As part of the programme, formal MoUs were signed between participating industries and empanelled consultancy organizations identified under the T3 Mission. These agreements mark the official commencement of consultancy support for approved projects and provide a framework covering project scope, responsibilities, deliverables, confidentiality provisions, and concept-to-commissioning assistance.

One of the notable developments at the event was the signing of an MoU for a proposed ₹40 crore technical textiles project by Balavigna Group. The agreement was signed in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thiru C.Joseph Vijay and Minister for Textiles Thiru M. Vijay Balaji, highlighting the state’s continued focus on attracting investments and strengthening its manufacturing ecosystem.

The proposed investment is expected to enhance technical textile manufacturing capabilities, promote innovation, and create employment opportunities in the region. Industry leaders noted that the T3 Mission is playing a crucial role in supporting businesses through expert consultancy, reducing implementation challenges, and enabling faster project execution.

Speaking on the occasion, representatives from the industry welcomed the Government’s proactive approach towards fostering technical textile investments and building a globally competitive ecosystem in Tamil Nadu.

With growing demand for technical textiles across sectors such as healthcare, infrastructure, automotive, agriculture, and industrial applications, Tamil Nadu continues to emerge as a preferred destination for advanced textile manufacturing. The latest MoU signings under the T3 Mission further strengthen the state’s vision of becoming a national leader in technical textiles through innovation, collaboration, and strategic investments.
