Crystal International Group unveils advanced logistics hub in China

Crystal International Unveils Advanced Logistics Hub in China
Crystal International Group unveils an advanced logistics hub in China to enhance supply chain efficiency and support global apparel operations.

Hong Kong-based apparel manufacturer Crystal International Group is set to strengthen its smart manufacturing capabilities with the development of a new advanced logistics centre in China, as part of its wider strategy to integrate cutting-edge technology across operations.

The facility is being developed by the group’s knits division at its lifestyle wear manufacturing unit in China. It will feature an automated cutting workshop and a centralized smart warehouse equipped with an advanced storage and retrieval system (AS/RS). These systems are designed to improve inventory management and delivery efficiency by leveraging real-time data on production demand and transportation routes.

Powered by a rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system, the new logistics centre is scheduled to commence full operations in the first quarter of 2026. Once operational, it is expected to reduce fabric transfer times by up to 75%. The AS/RS will enable autonomous movement of both fabric and finished goods, from storage through to the loading stage.

Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) will further enhance operational efficiency by transporting sewn components, creating a fully closed-loop automated material flow system within the facility.

Commenting on the development, Sam Lau, General Manager – Digital Manufacturing at Crystal International, said: “We are driving digitalization and automation in line with the Group’s ambition to achieve smarter processes, higher operational efficiency and productivity, as well as improved sustainability performance. This solution gives us a competitive edge and supports our long-term success.”

The initiative aligns with Crystal International’s Crystal Sustainability Vision 2030, which aims to transform all its facilities into smart factories through the adoption of innovative technologies. The new logistics hub marks a key milestone in the group’s journey towards advanced and sustainable manufacturing.

Founded in 1970, Crystal International operates more than 20 production facilities across five countries, including China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The group manufactures a wide range of apparel products such as lifestyle wear, sportswear, denim, intimate wear, sweaters and knitted fabrics, and works closely with leading global brands through its co-creation business model.
