Textiles Ministry Conducts Jaipur Workshop to Help Exporters Leverage FTAs and Government Schemes

Jaipur: The Textile Export Facilitation Centre (TEFC), operating under the Textiles Committee of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, recently organized an awareness programme in Jaipur focused on helping textile exporters maximize opportunities through Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and government support schemes.

The workshop, titled “Maximizing Exports Through FTAs and Government Schemes,” brought together nearly 100 participants, including textile manufacturers, exporters, MSMEs, entrepreneurs, industry associations, and other stakeholders from across Rajasthan.

The initiative comes at a crucial time as India prepares to implement the India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) on July 15. Under the agreement, 99% of Indian exports will gain duty-free access to the UK market, opening significant growth opportunities for the country’s textile and apparel sector.

Industry stakeholders were also briefed on upcoming trade developments, including the proposed Free Trade Agreement between India and the European Union. The agreement, expected to be signed by December and implemented between February and March 2027, is anticipated to further strengthen market access for Indian textile and apparel exporters.

Speaking at the event, Kartikay Dhanda, Secretary, Textiles Committee, Ministry of Textiles, emphasized the importance of utilizing FTAs and government schemes to drive export growth. He highlighted that a stronger focus on quality, innovation, value addition, sustainability, and global competitiveness can help Rajasthan play a larger role in India’s textile export expansion.

The workshop aimed to equip exporters with practical knowledge on leveraging trade agreements and government incentives, enabling them to enhance their global market presence and competitiveness.
