Andhra Pradesh Attracts ₹4,100 Crore Investments in Textile Sector
Andhra Pradesh strengthened its textile investment pipeline at Bharat Tex 2026 by signing two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹4,100 crore, reinforcing the state’s commitment to expanding sustainable textile manufacturing and apparel production.
Led by K. Rekha Rani, Commissioner of Handlooms and Textiles, the state signed an MoU for a ₹4,000 crore sustainable textile recycling facility in Visakhapatnam, aimed at supporting circular textile manufacturing and resource-efficient production.
A second MoU was signed for establishing a ₹100 crore garment manufacturing unit, which is expected to create approximately 3,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, further strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s apparel manufacturing ecosystem.
The Andhra Pradesh Pavilion attracted strong interest from political leaders, senior government officials and textile industry representatives during the exhibition.
Byreddy Jaya Nageswara Reddy, MLA from Yemmiganur, visited the pavilion and appreciated the participation of textile enterprises and handloom weavers showcasing the state’s capabilities.
He also held discussions with representatives of textile park associations regarding the proposed Banavasi MSME Textile Park and visited the Magic Weaves stall, encouraging initiatives to strengthen the brand identity of Yemmiganur’s textile products.
The investment agreements underscore Andhra Pradesh’s growing focus on sustainable textiles, value-added manufacturing and employment generation while leveraging Bharat Tex 2026 as a platform to attract large-scale investments into the state’s textile sector.
