Reju Expands Circular Textile Efforts with New Pennsylvania Research Hub

Reju has expanded its commitment to circular textiles with the launch of its first research and development (R&D) center in the United States, a move aimed at accelerating the commercialization of polyester textile-to-textile recycling technologies.

Located in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, the new facility is housed within Technip Energies’ Advanced Materials and Catalysts research campus. The center will serve as a key innovation hub, helping bridge the gap between laboratory research and industrial-scale deployment of advanced recycling solutions.

The R&D investment underscores the growing importance of fiber-to-fiber recycling as the textile industry seeks effective ways to reduce waste and lower dependence on virgin polyester. Reju is focused on developing technologies that recover polyester from both post-consumer and post-industrial textile waste, supporting a more circular and sustainable textile value chain.

According to the company, the facility will concentrate on process optimization, material testing, and technology validation to improve the efficiency, performance, and scalability of polyester recycling. The center is also expected to strengthen collaboration with industry partners and support the expansion of Reju’s future commercial operations.

The launch comes at a time when apparel brands and manufacturers are facing increasing pressure to incorporate recycled materials into their products and meet sustainability, climate, and circularity commitments. As demand for high-quality recycled polyester continues to grow, advanced recycling technologies are expected to play a crucial role in transforming the global textile industry.
